I don't normally write reviews, however, I was so pleased with this purchased I felt the need to do so. I was nervous because I wasn't familar with the seller. It was ordered on a Thursday and arrived on Monday in perfect conditions as it was well packed. Set up was a breeze, and the peice looks better in person than in the picture! It's a perfect size for the corner of my small home office. The quality is well worth the price. The inside holds about 4 bottles max and plently of glasses. The bottom shelf can hold at least 10 bottles. If you're on the fence about ordering, I can tell you I am very satisfied with this purchase. This bookcase arrived by UPS in absolutely perfect shape during the given time window. For several days prior to delivery UPS said they hadn't picked it up yet. On delivery day I didn't check, thinking that it would surely be a few more days. However I heard the truck outside and surprise! It was here. The UPS man brought it into my house for me.

My friend is a manufacturing engineer and he volunteered to assemble it for me. He found it quick and simple to assemble. He used the screwdriver attachment for his electric drill, and said that made assembly much easier and that it would have taken longer with a manual screwdriver. I think it took him about an hour and a half (though I had unpacked everything before he started). The doors slide very smoothly but he had to work on one of them a little because it wasn't straight (it closed leaving a bigger gap at the top than the bottom). That was the only difficulty with assembly and it wasn't much.

The only negative I can think of is that the instructions specify that the shelves can only hold 30 pounds or else they will bend. I expected this, but wish that this had been revealed in the amazon description rather than only revealed upon receiving the product. Anyway, if you have heavy books you might want to weigh them. I put my heaviest books on the bottom (which can hold 60 pounds), and put paperbacks and lighter books on the shelves above. I fit almost 4 boxes of books in this bookcase. It held more than I expected, and I am pleased. I plan to order another to use as an extra cabinet in my kitchen.

The Ameriwood Eight Inch Independently-Encased Coil Premium Futon Mattress is a mattress with a long name and a relatively small price. As may be expected by the name, it is a futon mattress, and as such can be folded and used as a futon sofa, or left flat and used like any other mattress. As a bed, it will easily fill out a full size sheet set and can be used on a bed frame or by itself on the floor.

I spent months sleeping on a pretty pricy air mattress before it (predictably) sprang a leak. I didn't want another air mattress, but I couldn't afford much with a college student's budget. After spending a few hours online reading through pages of overwhelmingly positive reviews, I settled on the Ameriwood Eight Inch Independently-Encased Coil Premium Futon Mattress and hoped that I had made the right decision. It arrived about a week later, compressed and rolled up.

While the mattress was quite heavy, I managed to get it into my room without help. After getting the mattress where I wanted it, I carefully cut off the plastic and stepped back as the mattress unrolled itself and inflated. It was quite entertaining to watch, and certainly made up for all the effort I'd spent getting it into my room! The instructions did recommend giving the mattress a few hours to fully expand and give the coils a break from being compressed for so long, but after the mattress had had a little while to sit, it was ready for use.

This is a wonderful mattress. Since I use mine as a bed, I have sheets on it, but the microfiber cover is very soft and probably wouldn't need sheets if it was going to be used exclusively as a sofa. The mattress is unbelievably comfortable and very supportive. I've slept on plenty of other futons and woken up with a sore back and neck from all the lumps and sags in the mattresses, but this mattress is completely different.

I have spent the past two months both sleeping on my mattress and using it as a place to sit and work during the day, so it gets a lot of use. It is just as comfortable as it was the first night, and the coils are all as firm and supportive as they were the day it arrived. I can't imagine going back to sleeping on an air mattress. This was, without a doubt, one of the best long-term purchases I have ever made.

The mattress does have one flaw, but it's a pretty minor one, and won't last. When the mattress is first released from its packaging, it will likely have a strong rubbery smell. Many people will find this unpleasant, but don't worry- the odor will dissipate given just a bit of time and use. Turning on a fan and ventilating the room will help speed this process along.

At the end of the first week of sleeping on my mattress, the smell was almost unnoticeable, and by the time the end of the second week rolled around it was completely gone. My mattress did arrive a little damp, but that was very likely due to weather conditions in my area and not the fault of the mattress or the company that shipped it, and it was completely dry within a couple of hours.

The Ameriwood Eight Inch Independently-Encased Coil Premium Futon Mattress may have a mouthful for a name, but it is a great mattress for a surprisingly low price. Cumbersome though it may be when it arrives, it unrolls itself and may be used within hours. It makes a good spot to curl up and read a book or watch a movie, and provides a supremely comfortable night's rest. If you have a limited budget but need a futon for your sofa frame or a full size mattress to sleep on, the Ameriwood Eight Inch Independently-Encased Coil Premium Futon Mattress will likely work well for you.

Racor PHL-1R Pro HeavyLift 4-by-4-Foot Cable-Lifted Storage Rack Review

After shopping for a garage ceiling storage system, I purchased this device. I was attracted to the ability to raise and lower the platform to load and unload items. This avoids the obvious pitfalls of using a ladder to hoist large or heavy items up from the ground.

In summary, I am reasonably happy with the overall product with some exceptions mentioned below. However, I will caution potential buyers that the design of this device is unforgiving. Unless your ceiling joists are EXACTLY 48" apart (they can be 1.5" less but not more than 48"), installation will be no where near as easy as the video on the website. You may need to mount this to a rigid board first if your joists are not 48" apart. The axle is not made to be adjustable and I find this to be a major design flaw of the device.

The foundation of the system includes 3 heavy metal grates that are secured to two metal cross beams with J hooks. I had a little trouble aligning the J hooks with the holes on the metal beams. However, by far, the most trouble I had was with securing the system to the ceiling. I really did not want to mount this to a board before securing it to the ceiling for aesthetic reasons. My ceiling joists were about 49" apart (instead of 48") and this created a VERY problematic installation. You need to secure this into wood (and not just the ceiling drywall) and you cannot mount the arms of the device further than 48" apart as the axle will not be long enough. I ended up lengthening the axle by a few inches by screwing both halves of the axle together with only the first set of holes. The two halves of the axle are supposed to come together with one inside the other aligning two sets of holes on each piece. I only went as far as the first set thus making it a little longer. Then I bought some aluminum 1/2 inch metal from a hardware store and reinforced the axle by screwing it to two sides of the axle. Keep in mind that the axle is not completely load-bearing so as long as it is rigid and reinforced, the system will work fine (see my uploaded picture of the lengthened and reinforced axle).

Problems continued when I used the included hardware lag bolts to screw the arms into the ceiling joists. Using a drill, I pre-drilled the holes as instructed and used a socket wrench to screw the lag bolts to the joists. I torqued 4 of the heads off of the cheap lag bolts. Do yourself a favor and go buy some better lag bolts at a hardware store before installing this device. The included lag bolts are totally inferior. After finishing the installation, it worked as described and I loaded it with a few hundred pounds of things I had previously kept on my garage floor. I will also mention that using the included crank device to raise and lower the platform, while not overly difficult, is a good work out.

Overall, I would recommend this product IF you know your joists are no further than 48" apart (or you are comfortable mounting it to a board first) and you go buy some decent lag bolts before trying to secure it to the ceiling.

I was a little nervous after I ordered this product. Because of the price, I was half expecting a balsa wood table and chairs that might get us through the next year or so. After receiving the package, I am exceptionally pleased with the quality. There is no doubt that this set will last a lifetime. The assembly was simple and relatively quick. The instructions and parts were labeled perfectly and left no doubts about what goes where. My only gripe is that, as shown in the picture, you can see the screw heads on the sides of each chair. However, I understand that wooden screw covers would be a choking hazard and let's face it, nobody likes a dead kid.
